- With reference to your segment about pharmacies in Newtown,I think you unfairly pick targets to ridicule. Was the person in the pharmacy a
pharmacist or a sales assistant? You never said she was a pharmacist, so I'm guessing she was a sales assistant. Isn't unrealistic to expect a
sales assistant to know about the contents of every item on the shelves?
When you call a car dealer for a problem with your car, do you expect the receptionist to answer all of your questions, or do you speak to a
mechanic? Did you question the pharmacist about the product? Maybe the only mistake the sales assistant made was to attempt to answer the
questions without referring you to speak to the pharmacist? Do you really think that a sales assistant has any say in the products which the pharmacy chooses to stock? Do pharmacies sell placebos? Is it realistic to expect that a sales assitant in a pharmacy to be aware of clinical testing procedures? Do you expect the sales assistant to know about items that they don't stock on the shelves?
Whenever you guys discuss this type of topic I see the same problems recurring through your logic. You expect that because you have done a lot of study and take a lot of interest in this field that everyone else will/should have the same level of knowledge of these things as yourselves.
It's unrealistic to expect a sales assistant in a pharmacy to know any more than what they can read off the labels of products on the shelves, and it is unfair to mock them for not being so enthusiastic about homeopathy as you are. You even mock the sales attendant at the pharmacy which stocks no homeopathic remedies because she doesn't know what homeopathy is. Really??
Are you serious? Clever, I think not! You really should take a critical look at yourselves, and maybe review the material before you release it for broadcast. I usually enjoy the show but that sort of smug self righteous crap is annoying and really doesn't reflect well on you.
