  • Listened to the podcast while driving the tractor.Found the female perspective very interesting as well. Would also love to hear more from Dianne about the autism \"cures\" that are targeted at vunerable and desperate parents.

  • YES to Autism cures and things, that was a very relevant and interesting topic that should be talked about more. We're just on the cusp of overturning the MMR-vaccine buzz, but more should be known!

  • More professional women think tanks! I'm a woman and a skeptic and while I completely like the men, this episode was like hanging out with friends. Thanks from the US.

  • Just found your podcast - glad to hear the no-nonsense tone from Australia. Yeah, what is it with nurses? They see how medicine works every day, but they don't apply it to their own lives. My nurse friend just told me how she was going to keep the water in her new hot-tub warm all the time, but not put chlorine in because she was more afraid of "chemicals" than bacteria! That's one hot-tub I won't be sitting in...

  • Excellent fun! I think I would like to hear an interview with these women later on - about their fields? I know we've had Dr Rachie interviewed (which was great) but maybe Eran or Kylie and (was it Dianne?) the autism-specialist should talk about some of the 'cures' for autism and quackery that goes on out there which targets parents.

I think all three women were tending towards 'advice when faced with pseudoscience' but it wasn't as explicit as it could be. You know, I've yet to see any 'Dear Abby' columnist-style of skepticism out there, beyond what George Hrab does with his 'Ask George'. It might be nice to have a section where people can write in for advice (kind of like that feedback everyone gave in about 'what happens when you're an atheist and someone says...') because Dave the Happy Singer was really good at that and it'd mean more interaction with the listeners? Don't have to do it every week, but it could be a Stefan and Richard additional thing too, maybe? I'd probably ask Stefan some really silly questions though. :)

And we need a forum board, the comments on this place are going wild. Just saying. ;)

  • I really enjoyed the change of pace this show provided ! Well done team for providing some feminine perspectives on stuff, and I agree with the previous poster that it would be interesting to hear some morestories of 'everyday skeptics', perhaps as part of the informal 'off-week' shows. You could be interviewed for 5 minutes or so about your personal skeptical journey and issues you follow closely. Not everyone can be well-read on all topics of skeptiverse, and I personally really enjoy hearing new voices talking about their own experiences. Thanks again for this episode girls, really enjoyed it !
