- Guys, great show as always. I'd like to comment mostly on Dr Rachie's segments of this episode.
First things first: doctor, forget New York. Come to Melbourne. The bikers are much nicer here.
Second, about the regulation of the "alternative" health practitioners in NSW... while the idea does sound good in principle, this kind of thing always leaves me a bit worried. Don't you think this may end up being used by them as a kind of "validation" given by the government to their practice?
For example, the item you mentioned about not being allowed to advertise or practise methods that are not supported by evidence. If taken to its logical conclusion, this would effectively outlaw homeopathy in NSW, but I find highly unlikely that this will actually happen. Wouldn't that, then, be taken as "comprovation" that homeopathy is supported by evidence (because if it weren't it would be forbidden)?
I'd love to hear/read your opinion on that.
Cheers,
-Wilson - Hi Steve,
Thanks for the feedback. In fact, Stephen talks about Q.I. on the upcoming interview, due to air May 1st.
During our recent trip to Adelaide, Richard and I caught up with Rob but also took a ghost tour of the Old Adelaide Gaol where we interviewed the guide Alison. You will hear this following Stephen Fry.
Glad you like the show.
Cheers
Rachael (Dr Rachie)
- Hey thanks Ryan, we have some great stuff coming up for you to enjoy. Next week is Rob Morrison from the Curiosity Show (Australians will remember him for his long running Channel 9 science show for kids). Then in 2 weeks we have the wonderful Stephen Fry! A great interview about why he despises alternative medicine plus stories from his recent huge world trip recording the documentary \"Last Chance to See\" based on the work of Douglas Adams. Hope you will enjoy these!
