- I've only just heard this podcast (25/08/2010), and I am saddened to hear of Jef's passing. He was one of my lecturers at Griffith Uni in the Dept of Education.
Jef was a quirky but though provoking teacher, perfect to inspire budding secondary school teachers, of many disciplines.
He taught us not only to think for ourselves, but that as teachers we also had to do the same to our students, and encourage them to think, question and investigate what ever topic you are teaching.
The most important thing he taught me was "Get out from behind the desk. Prowl YOUR class room. Keep the students thinking."
