Gary Kennedy graduated from the School of Food Technology at UNSW in 1984. He has worked in hospitals and meatworks, and as a food safety trainer and food safety auditor.

He currently is the Managing Director of Correct Food Systems, a food safety consultancy based at Surry Hills, and presents the monthly "What the Food" segment on Afternoons with James Valentine on ABC Local Radio, Sydney.
